The sediment patterns left by tidal water on sand — smooth curves and flowing lines deposited at the moment the tide turned, preserved until the next wave — are among the most resolved natural compositions on earth, made entirely without intention and entirely beautiful. This Monaco Edition rug was hand-knotted in pure silk with those tidal forms as its subject: warm ivory and pale sand in sweeping organic curves, the silk pile carrying a natural sheen that makes the fluid forms appear to move as the light shifts across the surface. Silk is a premium natural fibre — biodegradable, thermoregulating and exceptionally durable — selected by Monaco Edition for its ecological integrity as much as its beauty. Available in custom sizes.
