The finest Carrara marble — the stone that Michelangelo selected for his sculptures and Bernini used for his fountains — is almost white, the veining so faint and so fine that the surface appears to glow from within rather than simply reflect from above. This Monaco Edition rug was hand-knotted in wool and silk with that particular quality of pale marble as its reference: near-ivory ground with the faintest suggestion of form moving through it, the silk content providing the luminosity that gives the surface its depth. Wool and silk together are naturally thermoregulating, hypoallergenic and biodegradable — premium materials that perform exceptionally in bedrooms and living rooms designed for long-term comfort.
