The green-veined marble found in the quarries of Thessaly — a stone prized since antiquity for the way its olive and sage veining moves through a pale grey-white ground — furnished the floors of Roman temples and Byzantine churches because it produced a surface that was simultaneously neutral and alive. This Monaco Edition rug was hand-knotted in viscose with that stone as its reference: olive, sage and warm ivory in fluid organic forms, the plant-derived viscose pile carrying the cool palette with a natural sheen that shifts as the light changes through the day. A rug for a living room, dining space or bedroom where the floor is part of a considered interior. Available in custom sizes.
