Early 20th-century urban surveyors drafted city plans by hand on linen paper — thin ink lines crossing and recrossing a pale ground to record roads, lot boundaries and waterways with a precision that was also, unintentionally, beautiful. This Monaco Edition rug was hand-knotted in pure silk with those survey drawings as its direct reference: a pale ivory ground crossed by a fine grid of coloured lines in teal, rust and amber, the composition reading as cartographic from a distance and as delicate handwork up close. Silk is among the most ecologically efficient luxury fibres — biodegradable, naturally temperature-regulating and extraordinarily durable when properly cared for. A rug for a home office or living room. Available in custom sizes.
