The ceiling roses of neoclassical European architecture were carved in the same tone as the plaster around them — visible not through contrast but through the way light moved across their relief, revealing the form only at certain hours and certain angles. This circular Monaco Edition rug was drawn from that tradition of tonal ornament, where the motif and the ground share a colour and the design reveals itself slowly rather than all at once. Woven in viscose, the surface catches light differently through the day, the rosette appearing and receding as the room changes around it. For entrance halls, bedrooms and dressing rooms where understatement is the point. Custom sizes on request.
