The printmakers who worked with aquatint in the 18th and 19th centuries — Goya, Whistler, Mary Cassatt — could produce surfaces of extraordinary tonal gradation within a single colour, the acid biting the copper plate to different depths and producing a field that shifted from near-black through brown to pale gold within the same composition. This Monaco Edition wool rug draws from that printmaking tradition: a composition of warm brown, blush and charcoal forms built from fine surface texture rather than flat colour, the natural wool pile giving each tone a depth that photographs cannot fully represent. Biodegradable, sustainably sourced, naturally resilient. For a living room or home office. Available in custom sizes.
