Marble has been the most admired flooring material in European architecture for two thousand years, not because of its hardness but because of its surface — the way veins of mineral colour drift through a pale ground in forms that are entirely determined by geology and entirely resembling composition. This Monaco Edition rug was hand-knotted in wool and silk to capture that quality: warm ivory and pale gold flowing in organic forms, the silk threads following the veins and carrying a natural luminosity that makes the marble reference feel genuine rather than imitative. Wool and silk together are among the most ecologically responsible luxury materials available — natural, renewable and durable over decades of use. Available in custom sizes.
