The open ocean changes colour completely between deep water and the shore — saturated blue at depth dissolving through intermediate tones to near-white where the sand begins, a gradient that happens over kilometres and reads as one of the most calming transitions in the natural world. This Monaco Edition rug was hand-knotted in wool and viscose with that gradient as its sole subject: deep ocean blue at the top of the field dissolving seamlessly to pale ivory at the base. The viscose content adds a natural plant-derived sheen that keeps the tonal transition alive through different times of day, while the wool ground provides warmth and density underfoot.
