The relief-carved architectural fragments found at archaeological sites across the ancient Mediterranean — sections of frieze, broken column capitals, tiles displaced from their original context — have a particular beauty that comes from incompleteness, the design more interesting for what is missing than for what remains. This Monaco Edition rug was hand-knotted in bamboo silk with that quality of the fragment in mind: geometric and floral forms that suggest a larger pattern without revealing it entirely, the bamboo silk giving the warm ivory and gold palette a natural luminosity. A rug of real distinction for a living room or dining space. Available in custom sizes.
