The fresco painters of Pompeii worked in coral, rose and warm ivory on plaster still wet from the trowel — colours pressed into the wall itself rather than applied to a dry surface, producing a warmth and depth that no later technique has fully replicated. This Monaco Edition rug was hand-knotted in pure silk with those Pompeian walls as its direct reference: warm coral, rose and pale ivory in flowing forms that feel embedded in the surface rather than placed over it. Silk carries warm tones with a natural luminosity that no synthetic fibre achieves, and it is biodegradable, thermoregulating and sustainably sourced within Monaco Edition's supply chain.
