In 18th-century observatories, brass meridian circles were built to track the passage of the sun — instruments of pure function that ended up being among the most beautiful objects of their age, the warm metal of their circular frames catching light the way precious things do. This circular Monaco Edition rug began with that image: a warm copper and terracotta field held within a ring of deep teal, crossed by two lines of pale gold that follow the instrument's logic without imitating its form. Woven in wool and viscose, the surface shifts between warmth and metallic cool as the light moves through the room. A centrepiece rug for spaces designed with real confidence.
