Richard Serra's monumental steel sculptures changed how artists thought about colour — his discovery that industrial blue-black held a warmth and depth that pure black never did influenced a generation of designers who worked after him. Monaco Edition took that colour insight and combined it with the architectural vocabulary of Mondrian: a composition of rectangular forms in deep blue and pale ivory in wool and silk, the silk threads giving the blue a natural luminosity against the matte wool ground.
