Old canvas — stretched, primed, painted and left in a studio for years until the surface carries the accumulated marks of everything that happened in the room — has a quality of inhabited surface that no new material replicates. Monaco Edition hand-knotted this wool and silk rug with that quality of aged canvas as its direct reference: washes of aqua, pale gold and warm ivory in organic surface variations, the silk threads giving the layered palette a natural luminosity that shifts through the day. Wool and silk are both biodegradable and sustainably sourced. For a living room or home office where the floor is expected to carry real character. Available in custom sizes.
