The stone-carved rosettes found in the vaulted ceilings of Romanesque churches — single circular motifs cut from limestone with extraordinary precision, visible only when light falls across them at the right angle — were never intended as decoration in the conventional sense. They were geometry given permanence. This Monaco Edition wool rug draws from that tradition of tonal ornament: a large rosette rendered in the same warm ivory as the ground around it, visible through the movement of pile rather than through colour contrast. Pure wool carries the subtle composition with a natural matte warmth that suits both a bedroom and a formal living room. Available in custom sizes.
