There is a tradition in Japanese architecture of leaving one surface in a room entirely unadorned — a single white wall or a bare stone floor whose simplicity makes everything around it more alive. This Monaco Edition wool rug was hand-knotted in that spirit: a pale, near-monochrome field with a subtle large-scale form emerging from the ground in the same tone, visible only when the light finds it. The hand-knotted construction gives the surface a depth and density that a simpler technique would flatten entirely. A rug for a bedroom or living space where restraint is understood as a form of confidence. Available in custom sizes.
