The oceanographers who study deep-water current systems produce charts of extraordinary visual beauty — lines of flow curving across the surface of the ocean in forms that are entirely determined by physics and entirely resembling art. This Monaco Edition rug, woven in wool and viscose, was drawn from those current maps: soft organic forms in pale blue, warm ivory and muted sage moving across the surface with the ease of something that followed its own logic rather than a designer's instruction.
