The Scandinavian textile artists of the postwar period developed a particular approach to the circle — not as a perfect geometric form but as a soft, slightly irregular shape that carried the warmth of something drawn by hand rather than measured with a compass. This Monaco Edition wool rug draws from that tradition: overlapping circles in warm taupe and soft grey across an ivory field, their edges slightly soft, the internal texture of each form adding depth to the overall composition. Pure natural wool is the material behind the surface quality here — dense, warm and matte in a way that gives each circle a weight and presence that lighter fibres cannot produce.
