Old Russian and Central Asian flat-weave rugs were made in terracotta and rust tones because those pigments — drawn from iron-rich earth and madder root — were the most stable dyes available, colours that held their warmth through generations of use rather than fading to something diminished. This Monaco Edition wool rug was designed with that archival quality in mind: a warm rust field with a quiet geometric border, the composition resolved and unhurried, the colour deep and grounded.
