Matisse spent the last decade of his life cutting coloured paper into forms and arranging them across large surfaces — a process he called "drawing with scissors," where the act of cutting and placing was the design itself rather than a preparation for it. This Monaco Edition rug, woven in wool and viscose, was made in that spirit: soft geometric fields of coral, teal, ivory and pale sage sitting beside one another in a composition that feels assembled rather than drawn, warm and considered in equal measure. Wool and viscose together produce a surface that is naturally soft underfoot, temperature-stable and easy to maintain — premium materials chosen for how they perform as much as how they look. Available in custom sizes.
