The organic abstract painters who worked in the 1940s — Arshile Gorky, Matta, early de Kooning — developed a vocabulary of biomorphic forms in warm, earthy colours that sat between figuration and pure abstraction, the shapes suggesting organisms or landscapes without representing either. This Monaco Edition wool rug draws from that tradition: overlapping organic forms in amber, olive, warm grey and ivory assembled in a composition that is painterly and resolved, the natural wool pile carrying the rich palette with a matte depth. Pure wool is renewable, biodegradable and sustainably sourced by Monaco Edition. For a living room or home office where art and interior design share the same level of ambition.
