The octagonal frame — used in Islamic architecture to transition between a square base and a circular dome — is one of the most structurally resolved geometric forms in the history of building, chosen because it distributes weight evenly and reads as complete from every angle. This Monaco Edition wool rug takes that architectural form as its composition: a deep charcoal octagon holding a field of fine parallel lines, the whole surface reading as both graphic and considered.
