In the great Persian court rugs of the 16th century, the border was never an afterthought — it was understood as structurally essential, the frame that gave the central field its meaning and the composition its authority. This Monaco Edition rug was hand-knotted in wool with that tradition fully understood: a fine central medallion of botanical detail held within a deep, near-black border, the contrast between ornament and ground as resolved here as it was five centuries ago. A rug with genuine heritage behind it, built to hold its character through decades of daily life. Custom sizes available.
