The veined marble floors of early Renaissance palaces were laid in ivory and pale gold, the veining patterns running continuously from stone to stone so the whole floor read as a single surface rather than a collection of individual pieces. This Monaco Edition rug was hand-knotted in wool with that continuity in mind: fine veining lines in warm gold tracing across an ivory wool ground in forms that follow their own logic rather than any imposed pattern. Pure natural wool is among the most sustainably produced luxury fibres available — biodegradable, naturally soil-resistant and thermoregulating, improving with careful use over decades. A rug for a bedroom or living room where quality of material is the first consideration. Available in custom sizes.
