The decorative ironwork of 19th-century European buildings — the grilles, balustrades and garden gates of Paris and Vienna — carried botanical motifs pressed into metal with a delicacy that seemed to contradict the material entirely. This Monaco Edition rug was inspired by that contrast: botanical forms in a deep, almost metallic tone woven across a cool grey ground in wool and bamboo silk, the silk threads giving the floral elements a sheen that the grey field absorbs and the blossoms release. A rug that brings pattern and warmth to a room without softening its edges, suited to a living room or dining space with strong furniture and considered lighting. Available in custom sizes.
