Early 20th-century archive rooms held their documents in grid-ruled ledgers — page after page of careful notation, the grid itself a kind of quiet authority that made everything recorded within it feel permanent. This Monaco Edition rug was hand-knotted with that archival logic as its starting point: a pale ground crossed by a fine geometric grid, small ornamental details placed within each cell like notations in a very beautiful ledger. The composition rewards close attention while reading as calm and ordered from across the room.
