The hand-knotted flat-weave traditions of North Africa and the Middle East produced their most enduring textiles from exactly this principle: horizontal bands of colour in wool, each band a different earth tone, the accumulation of layers producing a warmth and depth that no single colour achieves alone. Monaco Edition hand-knotted this wool rug in that same spirit — bands of warm amber, pale rose, dusty teal and natural ivory running the width of the surface, the palette carrying the warmth of a desert landscape at different times of day.
