Josef Albers spent his entire career at a single question: what happens when two colour fields cross one another? His answer — that each colour transforms in the presence of its neighbour in ways no colour theory fully predicts — produced some of the most visually intelligent paintings of the 20th century. Monaco Edition applied that same inquiry to this viscose rug: warm ivory and pale stone fields crossing one another in a composition of overlapping rectangular planes, the plant-derived viscose pile adding a natural sheen that keeps the restrained palette alive.
