Botanical illustration reached its peak in the 18th century, when artists working for natural history expeditions were required to draw plants with complete scientific accuracy and complete aesthetic care at the same time — producing work that was simultaneously document and art. This Monaco Edition wool rug was drawn from that tradition: slender coral-red botanical branches scattered across a warm ivory ground with the ease of something observed and recorded rather than designed. The palette is warm and feminine without being soft, the composition open and airy. A rug that brings life to a bedroom, a dressing room or a living space where a light touch is exactly the right one. Available in custom sizes.
