The Cubist painters of the early 20th century were the first to ask what a surface looks like when the forms within it are allowed to break apart and reassemble — planes of tone and colour sitting beside one another in a composition that records multiple viewpoints at once. This Monaco Edition rug was hand-knotted in wool with that fragmented logic applied to the floor: irregular planes of warm stone, pale ivory and cool grey meeting at angles, the fine red accent lines that cross the surface recalling the pencil marks a painter draws before committing to paint. A rug for a living room or home office where visual intelligence is part of the brief. Available in custom sizes.
