The basalt columns of volcanic coastlines — the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland, the cliffs of Staffa off the Scottish coast — form some of the most precisely geometric natural structures on earth, hexagonal forms pressed together by cooling lava into a surface that looks designed and is entirely accidental. This Monaco Edition rug takes the grid logic of those formations and translates it into hand-knotted bamboo silk: a deep, near-black surface with a structural geometry that catches the light along every edge. The bamboo silk gives the dark palette a living quality, the surface shifting from charcoal to near-bronze depending on how the light falls. A rug of real presence, suited to a living room or dining space where strong design is the intention. Available in custom sizes.
