In the early 20th century, artists began assembling images from fragments of printed paper, fabric and found material — not because they lacked other means, but because they understood that a surface built from distinct pieces carries a richness and an honesty that a continuous ground never does. This Monaco Edition rug was hand-knotted in wool with that logic applied to the floor: fields of terracotta, sage and cream sitting beside one another, each with its own botanical character, the joins between them part of the design rather than something to be hidden. A rug of warmth, variety and genuine craft, suited to a living room or dining space where the floor is expected to hold its own. Available in custom sizes.
