BRABBU launched in 2011 at Decorex International in London — a deliberate choice of debut for a Portuguese brand that was positioning itself squarely within the British luxury interiors market from day one. The name derives from the word "brave", and the brand has leaned into that from the start: the pieces are not quiet or neutral. They are built to read across a room.
Based in Fânzeres, near Porto, BRABBU is part of the Covet Group — a collective of Portuguese design brands that also includes Maison Valentina and Rug'Society. The brand covers upholstery, casegoods, lighting, rugs, and accessories, with every piece handcrafted in Europe and available with a high degree of customisation in terms of finish, fabric, and dimension. Production lead time runs at six to eight weeks from order, which positions BRABBU firmly in the project specification market rather than off-the-shelf retail.
Each piece in the BRABBU collection is named after a geographic location, a natural phenomenon, or a cultural reference — and the connection is deliberate rather than decorative. The Sequoia II Centre Table takes its forest-green marble top and aged liquid metal base from the scale and texture of the Californian tree. The Gaia Dining Chair references the Greek earth mother through a skeletal frame and fully upholstered seat that balances structure and softness. The Karoo Counter Stool draws from the semi-desert landscape of South Africa in its materials and palette.
This approach produces a collection with internal consistency — pieces that share a visual language without being uniform. It also means interior designers can build a coherent scheme across multiple BRABBU categories, mixing upholstery with casegoods and lighting without the pieces working against each other.
The BRABBU collection available through SayRug brings this full-spectrum Portuguese brand to the UK market, with specialist guidance on specification, customisation options, and lead times for both residential and hospitality projects.
